President Donald Trump on Friday telephoned Prime Minister Narendra Modi to congratulate him on his sweeping victory in the country’s general elections.”Just spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi where I congratulated him on his big political victory,” Trump said via Twitter. “He is a great man and leader for the people of India – they are lucky to have him.”
PM Modi steered his Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) to a landslide victory on Thursday by winning 303 seats out of 542 seats, which went on polls in the seven phases Lok Sabha election between April 11 and May 19.The two leaders also agreed to meet at the G-20 Summit, to be held on June 28 and 29, in Osaka, Japan.
